they fall back on their training… or lack of it.” 

Medical emergencies occurring in patient care facilities are a common occurrence. While most practitioners are required to maintain basic emergency classes, such as CPR certifications- this may not be enough to adequately prepare staff for unexpected events. 

University Hospital is proud to offer Emergency Simulation Training for In Hospital medical staff. This scenario based training provides the staff members with realistic cases to assist with strengthening their existing skills and providing additional ‘muscle memory’.

Some examples of the potential scenarios include:

• A patient suddenly becomes short of breath on the examination table and quickly progresses to cardiac arrest.

• A family member in the waiting room develops chest pain and collapses to the ground. 

• You are called to the restroom where a patient with a known drug abuse history is unresponsive on the floor.

Our training staff adjust the scenarios based on the certifications of the staff, their working environment, and the types of emergencies they typically (and atypically) would be exposed to in their line of work.
