American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction and automated external defibrillation. This course is for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and lifeguards who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a Healthcare Provider CPR course.
If you fail to receive course confirmation via email, please check your SPAM/Junk folders. Receiving your course manual prior to the class is a pre-requisite for this course.
UH and Rutgers employees are only eligible for renewal for 45 days prior to your expiration date (as noted above).

The BLS Class location is 185 South Orange Avenue, Newark NJ in the Rutgers Medical Science Building. Students without parking passes can park in the P2 parking deck at the corner of South Orange Avenue and Bergen Street. The address for the parking deck is 160 Bergen Street. You can access the deck from either South Orange Ave or Bergen Street.

UH and Rutgers employees are only eligible for renewal up to one month ahead of their expiration month.
For example, a student who expires in June may register as early as May 1st.
Employees of University Hospital and Rutgers are not eligible for “free” BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP Provider and/or Recertification courses until one month from your current expiration month.
