The American Heart Association CPR Instructor Course is a two day course. Day one will be completed at home using the AHA BLS Essentials on-line course provided to you upon payment of the course. This program covers information on teaching and will take at least 5 hours  to complete. Once complete you will print out a completion certificate. This certificate must be brought to classroom with you on the date of the class. Participants must posess a VALID/UNEXPIRED American Heart Association CPR for Healthcare Provider Card and provide a copy of certification upon payment for the course.  Non AHA cards are not acceptable and cannot be accepted for this or any other AHA program.

Day two will be held at the University Hospital, Newark, NJ . Day two will cover information such as course organization, policies of both the AHA and University Hospital, administration of a course, advertising, equipment cleaning, changes in CPR and why they occur, skills testing, a written test and more.

At the completion of the the AHA Instructor course, students will still have to monitor courses at the UH Training Center, teach courses that will be monitored by our Training Center Faculty, and complete additional practical and written testing as set forth by the AHA and UH CTC. 

The UH CTC reserves the right to refuse any/all Instructor candidates that do not meet the minimum qualifications.  Reimbursement will NOT be provided for those students that fail testing or otherwise do not complete the training.

Course Fee for Rutgers Employees (Newark Campus only) $265.00
